Our goal is an inclusive community in which all people can participate and support each other. We believe that professional support should be person-centred and embedded in the community. Within the 'second key to inclusion', the Network will develop a training course for the workers in disability support services that will address the most effective methods of Community Inclusion and Development.

We recognize that there is still a structural barrier between service and community life which hinders the possibility for persons with disabilities to take on valued and contributing social roles within their communities. The Network seeks to help workers who have been trained and who have worked within the cultural and structural boundaries of the disability service system to develop connections to the community.

Led by the Fachschule für Sozialpädagogik Lensahn in Germany, the Network is researching available methods and mapping existing good practices in community inclusion. In May 2013, the Network launched a public call for outstanding community inclusion projects and initiatives searching for social innovations and the best community inclusion projects both from and outside the disability field. This will allow the Network to learn what it takes to build up a better community for all and to include formerly marginalized groups. The best European community inclusion projects will feature on our project website www.personcentredplanning.eu and the website of Inclusion Europe. In autumn, the Network will organise three ‘sensing journeys’ to visit three selected best practices to learn more about community inclusion.
